Armed Man Arrested Outside Mid-Missouri Truck Stop
RICHLAND, MO (KTVI)–A man is in custody after a standoff with Pulaski County Sheriff’s deputies overnight. Around 3:34 Sunday morning, employees of the Oasis Truck Plaza in Richland, MO, which is along State Highway 133 in the Ozarks, called 9-1-1 after an armed man threatened them.
According to the Sherriff’s Department, the man had wanted to sell firearm ammunition. When he was denied, he threatened to shoot them. When the suspect left the building, the employees feared he was going to get a gun and secured themselves inside.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene and found the suspect in his vehicle armed with numerous firearms. After a brief standoff, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The man was taken to the Pulaski County Jail. He is expected to be charged with numerous criminal offenses.
The suspect is identified only as a 55 year old man from Glencoe, Missouri. His name will be released once he has been formally charged.
