Slick Roads Cause Minor Accidents Overnight

ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) – ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Slick spots from more snowfall overnight and this morning are likely behind lots of crashes.
This morning, authorities are urging drivers to take it slow and be careful.
One of the wrecks happened on southbound 55 and South Broadway near Potomac around 5:30am or 6am.
A Camaro apparently spun out and hit the center median barrier, then crossed all the lanes and hit the right wall and finally came to rest back by the center median.
The driver was transported for treatment of his injuries.
Earlier around 4am this morning, another crash happened at the I-44/55 split.
In that case, we`re told one car spun out and hit the guardrail then that car was hit by a second car.
Police had the ramp from 55 to downtown closed for close to an hour as they cleared the wreck.
MoDOT came in and put down salt in the area.
Nobody was seriously hurt there.
And in Berkeley police say a wreck around 1am this morning was likely weather related.
A SUV spun out on the ramp from northbound 170 onto eastbound 70.
The SUV apparently hit a guardrail then ended up in some grass.
No injuries were reported from that scene.
A MoDOT spokesperson says salt trucks were out all night treating problem areas.
We`re told all of MoDOT’s trucks are out salting this morning.
That adds up to about 140 trucks because some of MoDOT`s trucks in our area are still in other parts of the state that were hit hard by snow.
