Bernthal – The Way It Oughta Be: Snow Days

(KPLR) – Winter has come and nearly gone.  But where was it.

I will sound too much like the parent who walked barefoot to school if I talk about the blizzard of 82 but it was a monster.

I don`t remember how long I was off school I just know that I  built an entire fort system in the backyard out of blocks of snow.

I don`t know where that type of winter went but we just haven`t seen much of one at all.

I don`t want ice – that`s no fun.  The kids in St. Louis want snow and lots of it.

Some of the area stores are hoping for snow as well.  They haven`t sold a snow shovel in a couple of years.

And sleds – well it looks to me that some stores have simply stopped carrying them.  They take up too much space and apparently we don`t need them.

The weather folks always say March can be the month for snow in St. Louis but I don`t believe it.

I think after tomorrow winter is over and while some of you are so glad we didn`t really have one – there`s a part of me that wishes we had.
