Blues, Billikens Fans Bring Business To Downtown
ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – It’s a big night for St. Louis sports fans and business owners with the Blues taking to the ice and the Billikens hitting the hardwood giving local businesses a much needed economic boost.
Downtown restaurants like, Mike Shannon’s Steaks and Seafood are prepared for big crowds. General Manager Matt Kruszynski, says his staff has been preparing for a rush before and after the games all day. “It’s a great thing. We’re so happy the Blues are back in town.”
It’s a similar story across town at the Buffalo Brewing Company Bar and Restaurant. Dan Stauder, better known as the brew master, spent part of his day brewing beer making sure there’s plenty to go around for Billikens fans. “It’s always fantastic when the Billikens play. We get a big crowd.”
The excitement is also being felt by SLU students who are beside themselves about tonight’s big game against Virginia Commonwealth University. “It’s exciting. To be this close to being in the top 25 and this close to being up their with Virginia Commonwealth is exciting,” said Brad Mills.
