St. Louis Rape Survivor Recounts Her Experience On Ricki Lake

(KPLR) – This week, a St. Louis woman is telling her story of sexual assault to a national audience; hoping her words make a difference in someone’s life.

Joanie Stewart will appear on the Ricki Lake show Tuesday, as part of the show’s two-part look at sexual violence.

Stewart is a member of a speaker’s bureau called “Rainn.”

Stewart waited 18 years before her attacker was caught and brought to justice.

She says she turned her experience into an outlet to help other women.
