WEST LIBERTY, W.VA. (WTOV) – Students studying at West Liberty University have a syllabus that bans FOX News as a source in papers. They are being told what sources they can use in a political science course. The courses syllabus recommends that they not use the satirical news source, The Onion, and the right leaning source FOX News.

In an interview with WTOV Professor Stephanie Wolfe said that the FOX News channel’s motto “makes me cringe.”

A copy of the syllabus has been published by Fox News. This is an excerpt:

“DO NOT use:

  1. The Onion – this is not news this is literally a parody
  2. Fox News – The tagline “Fox News” makes me cringe. Please do not subject me to this biased news station. I would almost rather you print off an article from the Onion,” the syllabus stated.

West Liberty University Robin Capehart President states that the institution’s objectives is for students to gather information from as many sources as possible. She would like students to reach an opinion by themselves.
