PONTOON BEACH, IL (KTVI) – Employees at a Pontoon Beach, Illinois store reportedly survived an armed robbery overnight.

Workers were inside the Casey`s General Store on Pontoon Road near Cargill Road just after midnight Wednesday.  We heard that that is when a man pointed a gun at them.  It looks like he got away with about $650.  But he wasn`t gone long.

Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies said they joined Pontoon Beach Police and Granite City Police in the manhunt.  An officer brought a man to the store and took the man out of a cruiser — possibly so employees could identify the suspect.  Madison County Sheriffs Deputies tell us an officer caught the suspect in Granite City possibly in the backyard of a nearby home and at gunpoint.

Pontoon Beach Police said charges could be filed later today.  There was word on any injuries.
