ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) – John Goodman is most popular for being the head of a working-class family on the 90s sitcom “Roseanne.” On Monday a YouTube video was posted showing Goodman playing a new role as the face of an effort to gain support for a proposed National Blues Museum in St. Louis.

“The National Blues Museum in downtown St. Louis will be the first museum in the country to tell the entire story of the blues, which is the foundation of all modern American music,” said the St. Louis native.

The self-described “dedicated music fan,” adds how several musicians such as Albert King, Chuck Berry and Miles Davis started in St. Louis.

According a report in the St. Louis Business Journal, the museum is set to open in 2014. Museum officials are looking for financial support to help build the $13.5 million structure.
