NEW YORK, NY – A 7-year-old’s playground dispute over $5 turned into a 10 hour interrogation. According to the New York Post the boy boy was accused of taking the money after a fight with kids from another school. Officers then showed up at PS114, handcuffed Wilson Reyes and held him in a room for four hours. The boy’s mother claims that officers then took him to the 44th precinct and interrogated him for another six hours.
When his mother and aunt went to the police station they were told that they could not see the boy.
Police say the boy punched another kid and forcibly took his money. The city is dropping a robbert charge against the 7 year old. But, an inspector with the city says that the family’s claims about the time spent in holding are exadurated. Law enforcement says that the boy was treated like any other young suspect.
The boy’s family is putting up a $250 million claim against the city and the NYPD
