Rare Female Execution In Texas
(KTVI) – The execution for death row inmate Kimberly McCarthy is set for Tuesday Jan. 29, in Texas.
According to Yahoo News, she will be the second person in the United States executed this year and the first woman to be executed in the United States in more than two years. The deceased victim was Dorothy Booth, 71, retired college professor and McCarthy’s neighbor.
Evidence showed McCarthy stabbed Booth five times, struck her with a candle holder, and then cut her finger off to take her diamond wedding ring, which she later pawned. Originally McCarthy claimed to go to her neighbor’s to borrow a cup of sugar. She may also be guilty of murdering two other elderly women.
