NFL Fines Tom Brady $10,000

(NFL) – New England Patriots’ Tom Brady will have to foot an expensive bill for his ‘aggressive slide’ during Sunday’s AFC Title Game against the Baltimore Ravens. The announcement for the decision on Brady’s fine first appeared on NFL.com Wednesday.

The controversial slide occurred during end of the first half on a broken play where Brady was forced to scramble outside of the pocket and his protection. Brady decided to slide to avoid being tackled. When Brady’s leg rose too high, he inadvertently kicked Ravens’ free safety Ed Reed in the thigh.

Initially Brady’s slide had been debated as being a dirty play and an intentional blow to Reed. Since Monday reports have come out that Brady has apologized for the mishap.
