(KPLR) – Along with the typewriter, books and a few other things, there's something else the internet has replaced.

I don't know how many of you still use the old phone books I'm sure there are plenty who do.

I'm also sure there are plenty who don't.

The Internet is where many of us now search for phone numbers or a business.

So I'm not as excited as I once was over the prospect of getting a new phone book.

Mine was delivered the other day during my vacation.

I don't know how long the phone books sat on my front porch but I do know it's a signal that nobody is home.

I guess I just don't like the idea of someone dropping off something on my front porch without my permission.

In the case of these phone books, it's like dumping trash on my property.

I don't think that's right.
