SOUTH AFRICA – Reportedly about 15,000 made a mad dash for freedom from the Rakwena Crocodile Farm in South Africa. The escape began when farm owners were forced to open their gates after a heavy rain caused the nearby Limpopo river to rise.
According to the Telegraph, half of the crocodiles remain on the loose and several others have been captured. Farm owners say they’ve been able to capture many of the large scattered reptiles with the help of local farmers by alerting them of locations of where they’ve been spotted.
