Cincinnati Reds To Host 2015 All-Star Game
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The Cincinnati Reds were awarded the 2015 All-Star Game during a press conference on Wednesday, January 23rd. This will be the fifth time the Reds have hosted the game.
The 86th Midsummer Classic will take place at the Great American Ball Park. Baseball Commissioner Allan Selig was joined by Reds’ President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Castellini for the announcement.
Selig stated in a release from Major League Baseball, “I am very pleased to award the 2015 All-Star Game to the Reds and the great fans of Cincinnati. The Midsummer Classic will be a remarkable opportunity to celebrate Cincinnati’s rich baseball tradition, which parallels the history of the national pastime itself.”
Castellini thanked Major League Baseball for the opportunity to bring the All-Star Game to Cincinnati. He stated preparations to transform the city’s “All-Star dream into reality” will begin Thursday.
The 2013 All-Star Game will be hosted by the New York Mets on Tuesday, July16th . Followed by the 2014 game at the Minnesota Twins’ Target Field.
