French Stench Crosses English Channel

(KPLR) – Households in Southern England were treated to stench that smelled like rotten eggs, cabbage and garlic.  Almost sounds like a food recipe, but the smell was coming from France and gas customers all across Southern England were calling to report the odor.

As it happened, the smell was coming from a factory in France, that had accidentally released a cloud of Mercaptan gas.
