Wednesday`s results are widely being viewed as basically a referendum on how the baseball writers view some of the most legendary players linked to steroids.
There is talk that nobody will get enough votes to be inducted.
The three big first time names on the ballot with the steroid cloud around them are slugger Barry Bonds, pitcher Roger Clemens and famous Chicago Cub Sammy Sosa.
Those three are among 24 new candidates on the ballot.
They join 13 returnees for a total of 37 who are up for possible induction.
Candidates need 75% of the votes cast by the Baseball Writers Association of America to be enshrined in Cooperstown.
Cardinals slugger Mark McGwire is also up—this is McGwire`s seventh year of consideration.
Other notable names up include Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio, Jack Morris and Mike Piazza.
The election results will be revealed at 1:00pm this afternoon St. Louis time.
The enshrinement ceremony will be July 28th in Cooperstown.
