New Pet Parents

(KTVI) – Dd you get a new pet for the holidays? Just  like a newborn baby, you begin to notice that pet is there everyday, day in and day out and it has needs just like a baby.

Steve Smolinski is the general manager of the Dardenne Prairie Petco. He shared some good advice for pet owners.

- keep pets active in the winter months

- keep them mentally stimulated

- socialization is key

The “nothing exercise” is helpful. Just sit with your pet until it calms down. An overhyper pet will eventually take the cues from you.
