The Pulse Of St. Louis: Fiscal Cliff And You
(KPLR) – The fiscal cliff has been avoided for now. Congress and the White House reached a deal on New Year’s Day that extended the bush era tax cuts for people making less than $400,000 dollars and couples making less than $450,000 dollars a year.
It also put off deep spending cuts for two months.
President Obama says it spares middle class Americans from being hit with a big tax increase now.
But the deal did not include an extension of the two-year-old payroll tax cut, so paychecks will be a little lighter this year.
Saturday night on the pulse of St. Louis, what the fiscal cliff deal means for you and just as importantly, how things that were not included will impact you and your bank account.
Plus, the budget battles that lie ahead.
You can watch ‘The Pulse of St. Louis” Saturday’s at 7:00 pm, on KPLR11.
