Gay Marriage Legal In Illinois By Memorial Day

SPRINGFIELD, IL (KPLR)-A proposal to legalize gay marriage in Illinois failed to get a vote in the state Senate. But both Democratic and Republican leaders in Springfield say that same-sex marriage will probably become legal in Illinois by Memorial Day.

In Missouri, a law against same-sex marriage was voted into the state constitution in 2004.
