ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - I don't know if anyone in your house received a new tablet, phone or e-reader this year but if they did they might be suffering from an electronics overload.

It's a condition that results in tuning out those around you.

Symptoms include neck stiffness, hearing problems for children when parents are asking them to do something.

And maybe most serious of all, a lack of interest in anything other than the electronic device they are holding in their hand.

I don't have anything against modern technology.

I just am annoyed by those who unplug from the real world to the extent that some do.

So maybe it's time for a new holiday, the leave your phone, tablet and e-reader at home day.

But if we did that, I just don't know what everyone would do.

I'm JB and that's the way it oughta be.
