ST. LOUIS, MO. (KPLR) – Have you noticed an increase in respiratory illnesses at home or at work? A number of people are reporting runny noses, sore throats, headaches, fever. Health officials says it’s the time of year when more people are spending more time indoors where it’s easier to spread germs.
The flu season officially begins November first but St. Louis University Hospital already is reporting its first suspected flu case.
Health officials are urging everyone older than six months to be vaccinated. It’s mandatory for St. Louis University Hospital employees and most health care workers to be vaccinated and many were lining for the flu shot Tuesday.
The vaccine is expected to be in good supply this year.
