Police Investigating Officer Involved Shooting In Centreville

CENTREVILLE, IL. (KPLR) – Police are on the scene of a shooting in Centreville, IL.  Reportedly, the shooting involves a young woman on Piggott in Centreville.  Both Illinois State Police and the FBI are on the scene, investigating the shooting.

Police are confirming that an officer responded to a call for a stabbing on Piggott and that when he arrived on the scene, a stabbing victim was found.  But an encounter with a young woman occurred and the officer’s gun discharged.

The woman was transported to a local hospital and is expected to be release later Monday night.
