CHESTERFIELD, MO (KPLR) - Two nationally-based stores settled in the St. Louis area with grand openings Thursday.

After opening a store in Brentwood, Nordstrom Rack opened a second store in Manchester.  Some people hear Nordstrom and they hear 'expensive'.  But, The Rack has a 40-year history of offering brand-name clothes, shoes, and accessories for the entire family at deep discounts.  That reputation is well-known in the St. Louis area.

But to convert the non-believers, Nordstrom clerks hid 20 golden hangers in the store.  They gave $100 in store credit to the customers who found one.

There was also a sweepstakes for a 90 second $2,000 shopping spree. The winner was Julia Oliver and she had a great time and left even store employees in the dust as she sped through the store finding treasures.

Not to be outdone, the electronics superstore h.h. gregg opened four locations on both sides of the Mississippi.  They held a contest to send a high-school football team to the Rams Father & Son event in November.
