JEFFERSON CITY, MO (KPLR) – Missouri employers can now opt-out of providing contraception as part of their insurance coverage. Missouri lawmakers overturned the governor’s veto of a birth control bill.

The vote by the house and senate means the legislation will become law immediately.  It allows employers and insurers to opt out of coverage for abortions, contraception and sterilization because of religious or moral beliefs.
