ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Karl Marx famously wrote that religion is the opium of the people. Since opium tends to put you to sleep and religious fanatics are as twitchy as pseudo-ephedrine cooks maybe he should have said, "Religion is the methamphetamine of the people." At least the people who murdered four Americans in Libya, including the US ambassador in the name of Islam. The people who set this whole thing off in the first place are also to blame.

First, the Muslim militants who stormed the US Consulate in Bengazi, Libya. The US ambassador hris Stevens was killed. So were three other American state department workers. The fanatics who stormed the consulate in Libya had the same beef as the fundamentalists who went inside the US embassy grounds in Cairo, Egypt and burned the US flag. The Muslim extremists were outraged over a film previewed on YouTube. A film attacking Islam and mocking the prophet Muhammad.

But wait, there's more. It ends up involving three of the world's major religions and some fringe fanatics. The film is called, "The Innocence Of Muslims." It was directed and bankrolled by a guy named Sam Bacile. Bacile is Jewish, he's from Israel and lives in California. He hates Islam with a passion. Bacile has said he thought his film mocking Muhammad and Islam would probably result in violence.

Then, there's pastor Terry Jones. The Florida preacher originally from Missouri created a firestorm a few months back when he burned copies of the Koran. Now the pastor of a protestant fundamentalist church in Gainesville, Florida is helping distrbute the film.  Since pastor Jones like Sam Bacile hates Islam.

The responsibility for the murders is squarely on the shoulders of the Muslim fanatics who stormed the consulate in Libya. But, they were helped along by Jewish and Christian extremists. Thanks guys. If you beleive in hell there's a special place there for all of them.

I'm Charles Jaco and that's Jacology.
