ST. LOUIS, MO. (KPLR) - Todd Akin would need to drop out of the Missouri Senate race by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday to avoid the courts getting involved, according to state law.
However, Akin has stated via Twitter and multiple statements that he intends to stay in the race.
Akin created a firestorm after making comments regarding abortion and rape on the Jaco Report.
Many of his supporters are using social media to help with fundraising.
“I think he is a good man and deserves to stay in the race,” Bob Zepp said.
Akin has lost several million dollars in expected donations since making the comments.
