Maybe that's because they heard about a panhandler in Oklahoma City. He got arrested but it's an interesting case.
Police thought telling the guy he had to by a hundred dollar license before he could solicit on a city corner would scare him off.
But it didn't.
In fact the panhandler said no problem. It sounded like a bargain to him. That's because he told the cop he made 60-thousand dollars last year panhandling.
60-grand tax free! That's amazing.
I tend to say no when people ask me for money. At least I can tell them it's nothing personal. I explain that I tell my daughter no whenever she asks me for money so why in the world would I say yes to a stranger.
So the next time you feel bad about saying no to a panhandler, just remember, at least one of them is doing just fine.
I'm JB and that's the way it oughta be.
