ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Big things are happening this weekend and as usual, Ch. 11 has the low-down on what's going on around town.

Friday July 27, 2012 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Garbage Bag Gala at the Moonrise Hotel - in one incredible evening, attendees will experience a fashion show like none they've experience before, all while networking with many of the Who's Who in St. Louis, and giving back to The Salvation Army.

This event will shine the spotlight on The Salvation Army's homeless services as models showcase creations made of garbage bags and duct tapes, designed by some of St. Louis' top fashion minds. A panel of judges will decide the best model/designer combo and award a prize.

Ticket includes entrance, show and food.

Saturday 7/28: 4th Annual Sweet Spot Cabaret at The Regional Arts Commission

CHARIS - The St. Louis Women's Chorus presents its 4th Annual Sweet Spot Cabaret fundraiser on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 8 p.m. at the Regional Arts Commission, 6128 Delmar Boulevard, St. Louis, MO. The Sweet Spot Cabaret is an evening of solo and ensemble performances and is a great night of entertainment for a group or an intimate twosome with decadent desserts, delicious coffee, and wonderful wines.

Saturday 7/28: World Naked Bike Ride in Tower Grove Park
Come as bare as you dare to celebrate bikes and bodies for the 5th Annual World Naked Bike Ride! The international event is a ride protesting oil dependency, raising cyclist awareness, and advocating positive body image.

This year's pre-ride gathering at 6 p.m. includes live bands, body-painting, and expo of bicycle, body positive, and environmental organizations and businesses in St. Louis.

Ride departs at 8 p.m. sharp for a loop around the city, before ending in the Grove for a post-ride celebration.
