ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – A Severe T-storm Watch is in effect for counties south of St. Louis until 9 pm.  Dangerous lightning, brief heavy rain, large hail and damaging winds are possible.  This will not bring an end to the extreme drought, but quick-hitting downpours will suppress the extreme heat and provide some relief to desiccated, farms, gardens and vegetation.  Rainfall amounts will be .1″ to .3″.   Highs over the weekend will range from 90-95 as the relief from the heat continues with sunshine returning on Friday.
