Lady Antebellum Plays a Hot but Packed Show at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – Lady Antebellum, popular American country music group from Nashville, Tennessee, performed a hot, but packed show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater this past Friday, June 29th, 2012 with opening acts Thompson Square & Darius Rucker.
Hillary Scott, Charles Kelly, and Dave Haywood formed the group in 2006. Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” was one of the band’s first hit singles, and put the band on the charts for one of America’s newest sounds in Country music. “American Honey” soon after also became a hit song, and their most recent album, “Own the Night”, was released in September 2011.
Lady Antebellum quickly gained fame and was awarded in the Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association for Top New Group. Soon after, the band was nominated for two Grammy Awards and won Best Country performance for “I Run to You”. Additionally, Lady Antebellum was awarded Top Vocal Group, Song of the Year and Single of the Year with “Need You Now” at the ACM Awards. Their latest award was for “Best Country Album” at the 54th Grammy Awards.
