SOUTH ST. LOUIS ( KTVI)-The annual “Thrill on the Hill” Soap Box Derby was held  Sunday, June 10, for all racers! Kids 8 – 17 also participate in this fun, family-friendly event.

Racers participated in one of two divisions: Stock or Super Stock. Each child had to  build their own soap box car from a kit in order to race.

The Soap Box Derby is put on each year by the St. Louis Jaycees, a volunteer service organization open to all men and women ages 21-39. Founded in 1915, the Jaycees provide an opportunity for young people to become involved in their community, as well as learn valuable management and leadership skills.
