Joplin Remembers Deadly Tornado; Obama to Speak at Commencement

JOPLIN, MO - (KPLR) - Final preparations are underway in Joplin as the city prepares to mark the one year anniversary of last year's deadly tornado. President Barack Obama will give the commencement address to Joplin High School students.

Last year's tornado was not only the deadliest  twister in six decades, but also the most expensive.  Insurance policies are expected to cover most of the 2.8 million dollars in damage.

FOX 2 and KPLR 11 coverage begins at noon.  Joplin  is still recovering from last year’s tornado that killed more than 160 people.
