GRANITE CITY, ILLINOIS ( KPLR)- The mother of one of the victims killed in a weekend one-car crash in Granite City is speaking out about speculation that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

"I just want people to know my daughter was not drinking or drugging," said Vicki Moss.

Her daughter, Krystal Moss, was killed along with Rhonda Hall, 30 and Johnny Million, 28.

The car they were in swerved across a grassy median in the 22-hundred block of St. Claire Avenue flipped and crashed into a tree.

Vicki Moss says her daughter turned 27 on Wednesday and was the mother of a 3-year-old daughter.

"She was in college and had her whole life ahead of her," said Vicki Moss.  "The day of the crash she was jumping up and down for joy because she got the job she wanted at a pediatric center."

Hall was 30 and the mother of a 6-year-old girl.  A friend of Hall`s said that daughter wrote a note to her mom after the crash hoping she would see it heaven.

"She was such an amazing mother her daughter loved her so much," said Briana Davis, a friend of Halls.

"She was active in our church and she sang a lot," said Davis. "She had a wonderful singing voice, such a beautiful voice."

Davis went on to say that Hall was the type of friend who always wanted to make others feel better.

Friends returned to the scene of the crash on Sunday night for a candlelight vigil to remember the victims and to let surviving family members know they have friends to lean on in their time of need.

Granite City police are investigating the crash and results from a toxicology test will not be known for several weeks.
