NEW YORK, NY (CNN) - New York Jets Quarterback Tim Tebow was at Monday night's Costume Institute Gala at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. Tebow was asked about the recent suicide of former NFL star Junior Seau.

"So many young athletes like myself looked up to him and watched him, the way he handled himself. You know I met him one time after he came to the Florida-Georgia game when he played then and just had the best time with him afterwards and I'm just extremely sad from him and his family and wish him support and I know I'll be praying for him."  said Tim Tebow.

Seau died of a gunshot wound at his Oceanside, California home last week.  He played pro football for 20 years.
