Politics Take Center Stage at NRA Convention Friday
ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – Some big name speakers will be in Downtown St. Louis Friday as the National Rifle Association kick off its annual convention. Governor Jay Nixon will open the convention at 9 a.m. Then this afternoon, GOP Presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich will speak.
More than 60,000 people are expected to attend the 141st Annual NRA Convention. Controversy is coming with the convention. A group made up of Missouri sportsmen will protest Mitt Romney Friday morning. They claim before the presumptive GOP Presidential nominee started running for president, he was a supporter of strict gun control measures that didn’t line up with the NRA.
There are hundreds of exhibits inside the America’s Center for the convention. The doors open at 9a.m. Get more information at NRA AM.org
