(KPLR)-- Walking towards his back door Kevin Corrigan could see there was a problem.  "There was glass all over the floor and all over the counter.  Down in the sink and all across the dining room.  It was a mess" said home owner Kevin Corrigan.

Surveying the damage Corrigan heard a commotion coming from the basement.  He exited the house quickly and called the police.

Police arrived at the house within minutes.  They entered the home and soon came face to face with the intruder.  A 20 pound wild turkey who despite going through the back window and crashing into the oven, appeared uninjured except for the loss of a few feathers

"The bird had been through enough and was kind of worn out.  They were able to get the bird into a net and carry it out the door" said Sergeant Jim Heldmann of the Ballwin Police Department.

The turkey was let go outside and Corrigan had an incredible story for his insurance agent.
