Molina & Cardinals Close in on Long Term Contract

Fox Sports Baseball reporter Ken Rosenthal reported Monday that the Cardinals and their All-Star catcher, Yadier Molina are close to finalizing a long term contract that would keep Molina in St. Louis for the next five seasons. The deal is believed to be worth in between 60 and 75 million dollars over the five year duration of the contract. Molina is eligible to be a free agent after the 2012 season. Molina’s agent, Melvin Roman expects an announcement on Molina’s new contract before Friday.
